We keep this simple. We collect what we need to print your order and get it to you, we don't sell your details to anyone, and you can ask us to delete them. Below is the detail, in plain English.
Who we are

What we collect
Information you give us
- Your name, email address and phone number — so we can confirm your order and contact you if there's a question about it.
- Your delivery address — so the courier can find you.
- Your order details — the garments, sizes, colours, print positions and quantities you chose.
- Artwork and logo files you upload — so we can print them.
- Anything you write to us — emails, enquiry forms, notes added to an order.
Information collected automatically
- Basic site analytics — which pages were visited, roughly where in the country the visit came from, and what kind of device was used. This is aggregated and doesn't identify you personally.
- Technical data — IP address and browser type, which our hosting keeps in its server logs for security.
We never see your card details
Payments are handled entirely by Stripe, a regulated payment processor. Your card number is entered on Stripe's own secure checkout and is never sent to us or stored on our website. We only receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, the amount, and the last four digits of the card so we can match it to your order.
Why we use it
Our lawful basis for each purpose
Under UK GDPR we have to tell you not just what we do with your data but why we're allowed to.
| What we do | Why we're allowed to |
|---|---|
| Take, print and deliver your order; handle returns and queries | Performance of a contract — we can't make your order without it |
| Keep records of sales for tax and accounting | Legal obligation — HMRC requires it |
| Prevent fraud and keep the website secure | Legitimate interests — protecting the business and our customers |
| Understand which pages people use, so we can improve the site | Legitimate interests — using aggregated, non-identifying data |
| Send you marketing emails or offers | Consent — only if you asked for them, and you can stop any time |
Who we share it with
Only the people who need it to complete your order
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing. We do pass the minimum necessary to:
- Stripe — to take payment.
- Our couriers (DPD and Royal Mail) — your name, delivery address and phone number or email, so they can deliver and send you tracking.
- Our garment suppliers — where an item ships direct, they receive your delivery address only.
- Our website host and email provider — who store the data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for anything else.
- Our accountant, and HMRC — for the sales records we're legally required to keep.
We'll also disclose information if we're legally required to, for example by a court order.
How long we keep it
Not indefinitely
| What | How long |
|---|---|
| Order and sales records | 6 years after the end of the relevant financial year (HMRC requirement) |
| Artwork and logo files | Kept while you remain a customer, so reorders are quick and cheap. Tell us to delete them and we will |
| Enquiries that didn't become orders | 12 months |
| Marketing contacts | Until you unsubscribe, then we keep only enough to remember not to email you again |
| Server logs | Short-term, as set by our hosting provider |
Your rights
What you can ask us to do
You have the right to:
- See what we hold about you, and get a copy.
- Correct it if it's wrong.
- Have it deleted, where we don't have a legal reason to keep it.
- Restrict or object to how we're using it.
- Take it elsewhere in a portable format.
- Withdraw consent to marketing at any time — there's an unsubscribe link in every marketing email.
Email hello@mycustomlook.com and we'll deal with it within one month. There's no charge.
If you're not happy with how we've handled it
Please tell us first — we'd rather put it right. But you always have the right to complain to the UK's data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner's Office, at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
Cookies
What this site stores on your device
We use only what the site needs to work and to tell us, in aggregate, how it's being used:
- Essential cookies and local storage — these remember your basket and the design you're working on in the designer, so you don't lose it when you move between pages. Without these the site can't function.
- Analytics — anonymous, aggregated page-view counts.
We don't use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. You can clear or block cookies in your browser settings, but if you block the essential ones your basket won't save.
Where your data is held
The UK and Europe
Our website and email are hosted within the UK/EEA. Some of our service providers, such as Stripe, are international; where data is transferred outside the UK it is protected by the safeguards required under UK GDPR, such as the International Data Transfer Agreement or adequacy regulations.
Children
This site isn't aimed at children
We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us their details, tell us and we'll delete them.
Changes
If we update this policy
We'll change the date at the top. If the change is significant and affects you, we'll tell you by email where we can.
